Gulnara Shigabutdinova earned her degree in Linguistics and International Communications in Russia. Since 2016, she has been working in the field, helping Russian-speaking individuals with interpretation in situations where clarity is the number one necessity, including medical appointments, depositions, court hearings, and asylum interviews, among others.

Gulnara is a certified medical interpreter, and served as a Chair of the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI), helping to advocate for quality standards and uplift the interpreter community. She holds a Master-level qualification as a court interpreter in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York, and has provided interpretation services for immigration courts. She continues to shape the future of the profession through the development of educational courses for linguists. Gulnara also participates as a speaker at professional conferences, where she presents topics on various aspects of interpretation in the field, advocating for language rights and promoting quality standards among language professionals.
